BIOGRAPHY

Music has always been a part of my life. As a child, I liked to imitate voices or to try sounds with different types of claps, and so on. In short, I played with music and, despite the passage of time, this curiosity is still alive.

I have trained in guitar and percussion in the Aula de Música Moderna of the Liceu Conservatory, in Barcelona. My career, however, took an unexpected turn in 2001 when, following my instincts, I travelled to Mexico. Unemployed, without knowing practically anyone and eager to learn. I studied guitar at the Council of Culture of the state of Querétaro while working professionally as a musician. By chance, I started teaching my first classes as a teacher and discovered my vocation for teaching. Accompanying my students in learning an instrument and seeing its evolution is a process that I enjoy a lot.

As a music teacher, I work in Spain, Italy and France, where I teach regular music courses at La Casa Musicale, the SEA (Service de Education Auditive) and the Bressola School in Perpignan, among others. All have been a very enriching experience that has also allowed me to train students with functional diversity. Currently, I teach at the ISEP Master of Music Therapy, and I have taught at the Taller de Músics and the musical theatre school Eòlia, all of the them based in Barcelona. In addition, I have collaborated in the edition of secondary education books for the publishing house Vicens Vives.

I consider myself a restless person. That attitude in life has led me to investigate Body Percussion and the BeatBox. As a pedagogue, I created the Todepa Method, Body Percussion and BeatBox. I have been trained with Barbatuques and Mayumaná and founded The Bodyphones, a band that investigates and experiences the multiple sounds of the human body. With a profound desire of going in-depth in the sound research field, I have been an artist-in-residence at the Roca Umbert Artistic Creation Factory, in Granollers.

Following my moto of enjoying music in all its facets, I am also a composer of soundtracks and have been a finalist three times for the best Original Soundtrack Award at the Jerry Goldsmith Awards. In the theatre scene, I have composed the music for the satirical play 'System Errors'. I have also collaborated with artists such as Landy el Rumbero and the socio-cultural project El Xamfrà.
