Synopsis
An unsuccessful musician by chance meets an embittered student on the roof of a building. The young man cruelly criticises the way the musician plays. So the musician, offended, plunges into a Machiavellian game that will end in the worst possible way.
Comments by the composer
I clearly knew that I would use a trombone, as the protagonist plays it every night on the roof. From there I composed a motif representing the character that plays it and subsequently became a sarcastic and cynical tune. This theme also has a variation with a teenage girl voice singing the motif, giving a pleasant and hypnotic tone. I also wrote a theme that the former group of the trombonist sang a cappella in a flashback, where the text of this theme described the situation of the moment. The structure was as follows: A diegético motif for the musician, from the same motif, a hypnotic theme for a flashback of the student, an a capella theme for a flashback of the musician, and the theme for the final credits with the motif of the trombone accompanied by other instruments. The instrumentation that I used was: trombone, piano, electric guitar, and for male and female voices, virtual instruments .
